**’5 Shorts Project’ shares the screen with teens who have experienced gun violence**

This youth program teaches future filmmakers in Philadelphia through “5 Shorts Project.” Led by Executive Director Shameka Sawyer, the initiative is rooted in personal tragedy; her brother lost his life to gun violence five years ago. This experience motivated her to create a platform for individuals who have faced similar hardships, allowing them to express their struggles through art. One specific program, “Bout Mine I Matter,” focuses on helping teens affected by gun violence articulate their emotions creatively. Additionally, the project includes a training course on making commercials located in the Germantown area.
