Ex-St. Cloud planning commission member fined in gun case
Lenora Octavia Hunt, a former St. Cloud Planning Commission member, was sentenced on June 24 for illegally transferring a firearm in July 2024. She received a 90-day stayed jail sentence and was fined $189.
In the incident, Hunt collaborated with Devounteono Lavance Tyson to sell a handgun to a confidential informant linked with the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force. Tyson was subsequently convicted of possessing a firearm and sentenced to 60 months in prison. Following the revelation of the charges, Hunt resigned from her role on the commission. Additionally, she had previously run for a St. Cloud City Council seat in 2020 and finished 14th in the 2024 primary.
