#WearOrange Event in Germantown Recognizes Gun Violence Survivors

To recognize and uplift survivors of gun violence and organizations working to combat it, Moms Demand Action joins forces with #WearOrange in Germantown on Sunday afternoon, June 8. The #WearOrange Weekend kicks off at 1 p.m. at Ridge Road Recreational Park.

The movement began ten years ago, honoring Hadiya Pendleton, who was killed at age 15 in Chicago. Moms Demand Action is part of Everytown for Gun Safety and was sparked by the 2012 Sandy Hook tragedy, which claimed 20 children and six teachers. Each June, volunteers host #WearOrange events nationwide, and this year features over 300 events, all advocating for a future free from gun violence.
