Chiago area students to present ideas to help stop gun violence
Students from various schools in Chicago are presenting innovative solutions to combat gun violence, inspired by the tragic Highland Park parade shooting. The initiative, known as Together Towards Peace, aims to transform young people’s grief into actionable change. Zandria Parker, a student from Noble Baker College Prep, alongside Steven Rosado from Praxis Institute, highlights the group’s efforts, including the production of a PSA-style short film that addresses the effects of gun violence in their community.
This program has engaged students from Noble Baker College Prep, DRW College Prep, Highland Park High School, and Roosevelt High School over the past five months. Their final projects will be showcased at the Together Towards Peace Culminating Event on May 15, 2025, at 1 N. State Street, 11th floor in Chicago.
