Led by NSSF, Gun-Rights Groups Best Gun-Control Groups in Lobbying Spending
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has emerged as a dominant force in federal lobbying for gun rights, spending $1,850,000 from January to March 31, 2025. Other key gun-rights organizations, including the NRA and Firearms Policy Coalition, contributed an additional $626,904 during the same period. In contrast, gun-control groups like Everytown, Giffords, and Brady collectively managed only $400,000 in lobbying expenditures. This disparity reflects a significant enthusiasm gap amid a Republican-controlled Congress and an environment favorable to pro-Second Amendment reforms under President Donald Trump’s leadership. The NSSF’s lobbying efforts encompass a broad spectrum of issues, while Everytown has focused primarily on stricter gun laws, all of which face challenging prospects in the current political climate.
