Bereaved mothers address gun violence at Mother’s Day brunch in Buckhead
Oresa Napper-Williams, who lost her child to a stray bullet in 2006, joined dozens of grieving mothers at a special brunch in Buckhead organized by the Rocket Foundation and rapper Quavo. The event honors mothers affected by gun violence, including the mother of rapper Takeoff, who was tragically shot in 2022. It aimed to amplify the voices of these mothers advocating for policy changes to combat gun violence. Other attendees included mothers who lost their daughters in the Uvalde school shooting. Many shared their grief and called for immediate action to prevent future tragedies. The gathering provided a supportive space for these mothers to connect and find solace amidst their shared experiences of loss.
