As reported by The New York Times, the funding aims to uphold the rule of law and democratic principles. The group will focus its financial support on crucial states such as Virginia, Arizona, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
John Feinblatt, president of Everytown, emphasized that attorneys general play a vital role in safeguarding democracy, stating, “We want to make sure that the A.G.s know that groups like us will support them if they do the right thing.” Bloomberg’s commitment follows a previous hesitance to support Kamala Harris but eventually led to a significant donation to her campaign.
